Interpret the influence of natural resources on the culture & history of Lee County
Contribute
to the economic development of the region through non-consumptive fee based experiences.

• Lee County is home of the 9,000 acre Shimek State Forest. This is the largest contiguous State Forest in Iowa.
• Various activities such as; hiking, horseback riding, mushroom hunting, fishing, picnicking and cross-country skiing are all available at Shimek.
